BRIDAL STYLING
A Pink Lover’s Dream Wedding
When Temi Ola, a content creator known for her love of all things pink, approached me to style her for her wedding celebrations, I knew we were about to embark on a bold and luxurious journey. Temi’s vision was one filled with opulence, elegance, and a touch of whimsicality, all centered around her favorite color—pink. Each of the six looks I curated for her reflected different facets of her personality, from her traditional roots to her modern flair.
Look 1: The Pink Traditional Bridal Robe
We began the festivities with Temi’s Nigerian traditional wedding, where she dazzled in a custom-made pink bridal robe, adorned with intricate crystal embellishments that shimmered in the light. The robe was a perfect blend of elegance and luxury, capturing Temi’s love for pink in the most glamorous way possible. She floated in it with grace, its bling details catching every camera flash. This robe set the tone for a celebration where tradition met modern luxury.
Look 2: Blue Aso Oke with Chantilly Lace
Next came the iconic Nigerian aso oke outfit, but Temi wasn’t one for the usual. Instead of the traditional heavy layers, we mixed classic blue aso oke with soft Chantilly lace, creating a contrast that felt light, feminine, and regal. The fabric was sculpted into a sleek silhouette that hugged her figure, while the lace added a delicate touch of romance. The look was completed with a dramatic gele that gave Temi the queen-like presence she deserved on such a special day.
Look 3: Black Tasseled Gown with Structured Shoulders
Temi wanted a more daring look for one of her evening events, so we chose a striking black gown with tasseled details and structured shoulders. The gown was modern and edgy, perfect for her bold personality. The sharp lines of the structured shoulders contrasted beautifully with the fluidity of the tassels, creating movement and drama as she danced the night away. The gown made her feel empowered and elegant all at once.
Look 4: The Pink Bridal Robe Inspired by Carrie Bradshaw
On her actual wedding day, Temi channeled her inner Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City in a dreamy pink robe. Inspired by Carrie’s iconic wedding look, this robe was both romantic and fashion-forward. The fabric was light, billowing around her as she moved, making her feel like the star of her own love story. This look brought her vision of a pink fairytale wedding to life, a moment she had always dreamed of.
Look 5: The White Detachable Gown by Matopeda
For her official wedding ceremony, Temi stepped into a breathtaking white gown by Matopeda, a masterpiece of design. The gown featured intricate bling details, with a detachable skirt that transformed her look from an ethereal ballgown to a sleek, form-fitting silhouette for her reception. It was the perfect blend of drama and sophistication, and the detachable element allowed her to have her grand entrance and still dance freely afterward.
Look 6: The Peach Reception Gown by Yves Elizabeth
To end the night in style, Temi slipped into a peach fully-beaded gown by Yves Elizabeth. This final look was a work of art, with each bead meticulously placed to create a gown that shimmered from every angle. The peach hue added a soft, feminine touch, while the intricate beadwork elevated the gown into something truly showstopping. It was the perfect finale to a day filled with extraordinary fashion moments.
The Bride’s Vision: Pomp and Circumstance
Temi, being a content creator, knew exactly how she wanted each moment to unfold. Every look was crafted to ensure that the spotlight was always on her, with each outfit telling a different part of her wedding story. From the traditional to the contemporary, from the bold to the whimsical, Temi’s wedding was a celebration of her love for fashion, drama, and of course—pink.
Styling Temi was a dream come true. Every gown, every accessory, and every detail came together to create the ultimate bridal wardrobe, making her wedding a visual feast that perfectly captured her vibrant personality. It was, without a doubt, a wedding styled with all the pomp and circumstance she envisioned—and more.
